Understanding & Befriending Your Nervous System

This small adult group (5–6 players) will focus on building nervous system awareness and real-world skills for regulating stress, activation, shutdown, and overwhelm—so you can better understand what state you’re in, what it feels like in your body, and how to gently shift toward a state that’s more supportive. We’ll practice strategies both out of game and in game, using character choices and story moments as a safe, engaging way to notice patterns and try something new.

Over 10 weeks, you’ll learn how different “parts” of your nervous system show up in everyday life—fight/flight, freeze, collapse, connection—and how to start taking more control while you’re in them, not just after the fact. You’ll also develop a personalized plan for what helps your system reset and stay resilient, then practice it with support and accountability inside the group.

We’ll be running Vampire: The Masquerade (V5) as our shared story engine. The game is designed to bring intensity, temptation, and activation in a contained, consensual, and fun way—giving us opportunities to track nervous system shifts in real time and practice returning to steadiness. The campaign will be beginner-friendly (no prior Vampire or TTRPG experience required). Expect a moody, social, story-driven experience with plenty of room for humor, camaraderie, and learning.

This group runs for 10 weeks, starting in early April.
